Gary L. Teeter was born in Columbus, Ohio and grew up as a son of an Air Force Flight Engineer and Veteran of two wars. Because of his father having a career in the U.S. Air Force, Gary had the opportunity to live in the Northern and Southern states along the East coast. Gary received a business degree from Stark State College in 1980. While attending college, he worked summers in the oil fields. Upon graduation, Gary obtained employment with a Canton based heavy equipment company to monitor inventory. Gary soon realized how much he missed working in construction. With the times being as equally challenging in the late 70’s and early 80’s in Ohio , Gary flew to Florida and immediately started working on condominiums on Sanibel Island . Upon returning to Ohio, the economy was still recovering and the building trade was less than moderate. Gary then gained employment at a local tile manufacturing company that produced ceramic floor tiles that were shipped domestically and internationally. From this job , he moved to a Canton based gas pipeline company which he helped to tie in gas wells from surrounding counties to a central line that serviced the Timken Company. For a while, Gary carried a card from Carpenters Local #639 and worked on jobs in the Greater Akron area. With these previous employments, Gary was able to save enough money to start his own subcontracting company, Lee Interior Systems. This company performed drywall, metal framing and suspended ceiling services. Lee Interiors serviced area general contractors in the residential and commercial construction segment. Gary’s company serviced builders and commercial general contractors from Steubenville to Cleveland, Ohio. Projects included new homes, churches, grocery stores, funeral homes, fire stations, post office, nursing homes and even an Army barracks in Port Clinton, Ohio. It was always one of Gary’s dreams to be a home builder. With persistent planning, Gary transitioned Lee Interior Systems to Image Homes by signing his first new home contract in 1992. From there, Gary grew his company and staff gradually, until he reached the starting and completion of twenty plus quality homes a year. Image Homes has built in numerous Ohio counties: Carroll, Stark, Tuscarawas, Jefferson, Harrison, Columbiana, Trumbull, Portage, Summit, and Wayne. Gary considers his company to be a small to midsized building company that focuses on quality and fair pricing. Image Homes designs and constructs homes anywhere from entry level to 4000 plus square feet. One of Image Homes’ highlights was entering a home in Stark County BIA Parade of Homes which was then used as a decorated model for four years. Image Homes is currently located at 3996 Fulton Road, Canton, Ohio, 44718.
